My stay at La Alhondiga was quite mixed. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Puebla, making it easy to explore the old town. yet the amenities left a lot to be desired. The service was friendly, but some aspects of my room didn't meet my expectations. Overall, it’s an okay choice if you’re mainly looking for a place to sleep near the action.

Rooms

My room was on the larger side with two queen beds, but the quality varied. Some rooms seemed a bit cramped, and I found the pillows uncomfortable.
Service

The staff were friendly and responsive, quickly addressing any issues I had during my stay. making me feel cared for despite the ongoing problems with the room.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right near the Zocalo, allowing me to explore on foot easily. I did appreciate that the room was surprisingly quiet despite the central location.
Dining

Breakfast was a bit of a letdown, just a few pieces of fruit and coffee offered each morning. If you're expecting a hearty meal, you'll need to venture out to find better options.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel lacks fitness and business centers, but offers basic room service and housekeeping. which I found acceptable given the focus on comfort and location.

7.0/10

I had a mixed experience at Hotel La Alhondiga. The location was fantastic, right on the Zocalo, but there were several shortcomings that affected my stay. The room was spacious but lacked essential amenities and noise control. The staff was friendly, but their limited English made communication a bit challenging.

Rooms
5.0
My room was large with two queen beds, but it felt unsecure due to a round open window that faced the hallway. There were no towels, floor mat, or proper closet space, and the shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and helpful, but not always efficient. I found them to be quite noisy in the mornings, which disrupted my sleep.
Location
9.0
The location is excellent, right in the heart of Puebla, with easy access to the main square and nearby cafes. This was the highlight of my stay.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast included a very basic selection of coffee, some fruit, and weird-tasting orange juice. I preferred to eat out instead.
Facilities
5.0
While there is daily housekeeping and bottled water is provided, the lack of Wi-Fi reliability and other amenities made the facilities feel underwhelming.

I had a decent stay at Hotel La Alhondiga. The price was just right and the location was unbeatable—right on the Zocalo. However, the rooms were a bit small and the wifi was super slow, which was a bit of a bummer.

The location was amazing, right in the heart of Puebla. It provided a nice buffer from the city noise, allowing me to rest without too much disturbance.

The free continental breakfast was pretty basic—mostly coffee and fruit. If you want something more substantial, I’d recommend checking out nearby restaurants.

The hotel had a nice layout with comfy spots to relax, and it offered some good facilities like a restaurant and coffee shop.

5.8/10

I enjoyed the location of Hotel La Alhondiga, right on the main square, but the overall experience was marred by several issues. The inner room design, with limited windows, made it feel cramped and noisy, and the amenities were quite basic. Although the staff was friendly, the lack of comfort in the rooms and dining left much to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
My room was small and outdated, featuring only a ceiling fan and no air conditioning. I had an open window that led to the hallway, allowing a lot of noise to disturb my sleep. Plus, there were no closet or drawers for my clothes, and I had issues with the bathroom's cleanliness.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and helpful, but the language barrier was significant since they spoke little English. They could improve their attentiveness, especially regarding amenities like towels and bathroom supplies.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location on the Zocalo (main square) is fantastic, providing easy access to explore the old town. However, being an interior hotel, it offered some protection from the city's noise, despite the noisy staff in the mornings.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a letdown. it felt like a 'bait and switch' since I was told it was included, but it consisted only of coffee and some fruit. I expected more options to start my day.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel has potential with its spa and coffee shop, my overall experience was limited by small basic amenities in the room. The Wi-Fi worked sporadically, and I couldn't connect my device during my stay.

My stay at Hotel La Alhondiga had its ups and downs. The location was unbeatable, right by Zocalo, but the room left much to be desired in terms of comfort. It was a bit noisy with ongoing events during my visit, and the amenities could use a serious upgrade.

Rooms
5.0
My room felt cramped and noisy, especially with the large indoor corridor echoing sounds. The bathroom was lacking essential items, which was pretty inconvenient.
Service
7.0
The staff was friendly and quick to assist when I had issues, which I appreciated, though the language barrier made things a bit tricky at times.
Location
9.0
I loved the location right off the main square. Being in the heart of the city made exploring super easy, even if it got a little loud at night.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was less than impressive; it was pretty basic and seemed to be poorly organized, which made for a frustrating start to the day.

5.0
Facilities were minimal, with no pool or fitness center, and the internet connection was spotty. It felt more like a traditional stay without many modern conveniences.
